Just Exhibit Season
As exhibition season comes to an end for 2025, we take a breath to reflect on the industry learnings over the past four months.
The importance of sustainable and transparent products for the exhibition market.
Minimize carbon emissions with a sustainable freight, shipping and transportation strategy.
Focus on materials resource management. Materials resource management is a comprehensive approach, beginning with using less, making the best choices of materials and life-cycle planning. From there, it moves to reusing, donating and upcyling, and finally to recycling.
At Studio GBM, we take these learnings seriously. Not all print methods are green, and not all materials are recycled; however, we actively promote goods that are both and, where possible, are sourced either locally or within the shortest possible shipping route.
The importance of tracebility in branded promotional materials. One of our clients has chosen their curated branded portfolio from exclusively recycled and recyclable products. Another, an Irish port, has included promotional material produced from ocean bound plastics.
What is interesting about these intentional decisions is the understanding by companies of how their brands wish to be seen, both by their employees and to the wider market. Companies are deliberately selecting goods that tell their brand story in a tangible, visible and meaningful way.
Portability. As events become more prolific again both in Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe and the US, it is becoming increasingly important that business people can carry their displays easily, that they fit in cars, trains, planes and trams. Our bestselling exhibition models are light, multi functional, durable, washable and easily transported.
The demise of the roll-up. The day of the roll-up is coming to an end; it’s replacement is a double sided, fabric zipper wall. Not only does it offer brand visibility from the front and the back, fabric walls do not have the shiney appearance of vinyl and they can be used repeatedly without the inevitable ‘pull’ marks up by the top rail.
Rental is a thing. Depending on how often companies attend trade fairs or depending on how their marketing budgets are structured, rental is becoming extremely attractive as a way to display without impacting on capital purchase budgets or storage space.
Global markets. With Irish companies entering new global markets, our fitting teams are part of a growing global trade show family. As event coordinators, Studio GBM manage events in Ireland, UK, Europe and the US. We have been in the exhibition market since 1999, so talk to us about what you need to bring to a show, how it needs to look to get noticed, is rental the way to go, or is purchase better value and whether can we help with installation.
