Celebrating the 90th birthday of Arvo Pärt

  • Saint Mary's Cathedral Bridge Street Limerick, LK, V94 E068 Ireland (map)

Studio GBM is supporting a special lunchtime concert at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, commemorating the 90th birthday of Arvo Pärt, one of the most performed living composers of contemporary classical music.

The concert, taking place on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025 at 1.15 pm, is hosted in partnership with the Honorary Consul to Estonia for the Midwest and marks the first anniversary of the establishment of the Estonian Honorary Consulate in Limerick.

The programme features selected works from Pärt’s deeply spiritual and contemplative repertoire, performed by local musicians, with the presence of Her Excellency, Ms Kairi Künka, the Estonian Ambassador to Ireland. This event reflects a cultural collaboration between Saint Mary’s Cathedral and the Arvo Pärt Centre in Laulasmaa, Estonia, celebrating the composer’s profound influence on contemporary classical music worldwide.

Studio GBM is honoured to support this occasion, which highlights the rich cultural connections between Limerick and Estonia and pays tribute to a remarkable figure in modern music.
